New York marathon for Cancer Focus NI

Cancer Focus NIOn 1st November this year I will be lining up at the start of the New York marathon. With around 50,000 runners, this is the biggest marathon in the world!

Training is going well so far, no major injuries and up to 16 miles in my long runs. I have never run in such a big event before but will be taking part in the Great North Run on 13th September to get used to the crowds!

I am running as part of a team, raising funds for Cancer Focus NI. This is our local cancer charity, providing invaluable advice and support to people from all walks of life in Northern Ireland who are dealing with cancer. Cancer Focus NI also funds research into the treatment and prevention of this illness, which affects nearly all of us at some point, whether directly or through family or friends.

You can find out more about the work that Cancer Focus NI do at www.cancerfocusni.org.

We would be extremely grateful for any donations, which can be made at www.virginmoneygiving.com/nyc4cancerfocus.

Thank you. Emma
